Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia with a population of 67 million people. Over 94% claim Buddhism as their main religion, 5% are Muslim, and less than .5% are Christian. Thailand means "land of the free" and they take great pride in being one of the only Asian nations to have never been imperialized. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy and it's ruling family has held power for more than 1,000 years. They practice freedom of religion, so the country is wide open for the gospel to be preached and has the potential for the gospel to spread quickly. Thailand is also known as the "land of smiles" due to the easy going and hospitable nature of the people, however, it is a place of little true joy. If workers will go, and God's people will pray, God's power and the truth of the gospel will transform Thailand into a nation that is truly free and full of smiles.
